Being the first in the family to plan and attend college creates a lot of fear and uncertainty. Within Cardinals Interact we use several websites to support our students. Here are some of the websites that can be useful to learn to prepare for college and apply for college.

Collegeboard
The website is used to sign up for the SAT during the student’s junior year. The students can also do research on the various colleges.

Khan Academy
The website is a tool to help students study for free for the SAT test.

ACT
Students will use the website to sign-up for the ACT test towards the end of junior year.

Cal State Apply
During their senior year, students will use this internet portal to apply to the California State University system. This portal is a great link to the various CSU campuses.

University of California Admissions
This portal is used by students to apply to the Universities of California. Students can explore the various campuses and know about their requirements.

California Colleges
CaliforniaColleges.edu is the State of California’s official college and career planning platform. Lessons and tools help students discover goals for life after high school, make plans to achieve them, and launch their futures. It’s free for California 6th – 12th grade students, their parents, and educators.

Common App
The website is a link to more than 750 private universities. The students can explore various campuses and apply to the schools with one application.

FAFSA
To help students pay for college the students will be using the FAFSA which stands for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The students can begin to apply on October 1st until March 2nd.

California Student Aid Commission
Students will be able to apply for State Aid starting on October 1st. The California Student Aid Commission is the tool to help students apply for California Dream Act Application as well.

The San Diego Foundation has various scholarship opportunities to help students receive money to pay for college.
