Cardinals Interact Program Overview

The Cardinals Interact Program is a partnership between San Diego Rotary Club 33, Hoover High School and Price Philanthropies offered to Hoover High School students over a three year period starting at the end of ninth grade.

The Cardinals Interact Program was designed to assist students in successfully completing their high school graduation requirement and becoming college ready. A key strategy in supporting Hoover students is providing them with mentorship opportunities, exposure to professional experiences and helping students become empowered to positively impact their community.

As members of the Cardinals Interact program, students have access to activities such as behind-the-scenes programs, summer camps, environmental clean-ups, career exposure opportunities, one-on-one mentoring, and much more.

Program Structure

Our program staff includes our Executive Director, Assistant Director, three class coordinators and multiple tutors and facilitators.
Each cohort is assigned a class coordinator who monitors the students and manages the activities of the class. The students begin the program at the end of their 9th grade year and are expected to stay at Hoover High School until graduation.

Creating the Foundation for Future Success

Our students complete the program with the skills and knowledge to help them pursue their goals after graduation.
Students who maintain excellent program attendance earn a stipend. Additionally, students who complete the program are awarded the Jesus “Chuy” Morales scholarship for vocational school, community college, or a four-year university.
